Hot Trends For Summer 2010

This year, shoe designers are focusing on designs that are edgy, innovative,
and show stopping. Christian Louboutin, known for his jaw dropping
stilettos. is leading the pack with his newly reveled line of sneakers for
men. Which, if I may be bold enough to say. Is as equally jaw-dropping as
his female collection. Louboutin has taken the woman’s “spiked heel” and
created the sleek “Spiked sneaker” for men, complete with the designer’s
signature red sole.



While I love a nice animal print as much as anyone, “glamour” isn’t exactly
what comes to mind when thinking about animal patterns. That being said,
Akira recently caught my attention with their new “Welcome to The Jungle”
Summer collection, for women. In this collection, the term “Jungle” is a
metaphor, juxtaposing the wild Serengeti with the “concerte jungle” of the
city. Its all about allowing women to bring out their inner “glamazon”. When
most designers attempt to go the route of animal prints and faux furs, they
often can became too “primitive” looking, as if a woman walking down the
street suddenly ran into a tiger and threw on its fur. Akira, on the other
hand, has done a great job of avoiding that, by building a collection for
the Summer that is sleek, sexy, and fierce.
